“Das Wiener Konzerthaus” is the centre of classical music in the Austrian capital. It was opened in 1913.
It is one of the most famous concert places for classical music. “Das Konzerthaus” at which excellent conductors as Georges Prêtre, Gennadij Roschdestwenskij, Wolfgang Sawallisch, and Carlo Maria Giulini have worked, is the main venue of the “Wiener Symphoniker”, the chamber orchestra and “Klangforum” Vienna. About 750 plays have taken place here which up to 600.000 listeners have visited. Aside from romantic and baroque music, rock and jazz music is also played.
