Lyubomir Gospodinov
Lyubomir Gospodinov was born on May 9, 1968 in Sofia. At the age of 9 he began to study the clarinet. He received his musical education at the Lyubomir Pipkov Secondary School, then graduated from the Pancho Vladigerov Music Academy in Sofia under the guidance of Prof. Sava Dimitrov. Since 1991 he has been living and working in Austria, where he continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Prof. Peter Schmidt, where he received a master's degree. Lyubomir Gospodinov's unique skill in writing and performing music combines elements of classical, jazz and traditional music in an amazing fusion of styles. In 2013, his composition “Chicken Dance” (performed with his group Trio Klock) took 4th place at the New York Jazz Competition. Along with teaching at the Vienna Conservatory, Gospodinov is engaged in various musical activities – from playing with musicians and singers to participating in big bands and classical orchestra, with which he performs in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
